On the last Thursday in February, Krakofonia performed a one-of-a-kind lowkey/chamber concert that was special for several reasons.
First, the audience was our closest friends and relatives, with their number severely limited by the capacity of the Stakkato Art Space concert venue, where we rehearse each week. Second, for some of us this was their first choir performance as we have had quite a few new arrivals in sopranos and altos. And finally, we sang several brand new pieces that we performed for the first time for a live audience.
The concert was a bit of a warmup for more major concerts that we are preparing for spring and summer. Why the ‘camera’ in the title, you may ask? Well, it ties in with the theme of those concerts, which is film scores and musical theatre. In the Stakkato concerts, you could hear arrangements for films, musicals, animated films and operas - you will have an opportunity to learn more details soon!
As usually, Lew Galaksy was our brilliant conductor and Olga Piotrowska-Cender accompanied us on the piano.
